Projects

We have implemented a large number of projects together with our customers.
Here you can find out more about our realized customer projects (selection).

Exchange of bridge bearings

The bearings of the Vienna "Reichsbrücke" must be replaced. To do this, 10 Enerpac cylinders (Type CLP2502, lifting force 260 tons per cylinder) are evenly positioned around the bearing. The cylinders are extended with the aid of a hydraulic pump and a manifold with a shut-off function. The bridge is raised by 11 mm. The cylinders thus support the bridge and the corresponding bearing can be exchanged. After the replacement, the cylinders are relieved and positioned at a new bearing where the process is repeated.

Synchronous shifting of a bridge

Customer requirement: the synchronous shifting of a complete railway bridge element to expand a single-track line.

Solution: The bridge element is moved to the end position on a rail with the aid of a slide to which the cylinders (left and right) are attached. Fixed by bolts, the bridge element is pushed forward step by step on the rails (synchronous distance measurement). After completing the distance, the bolts are loosened and the cylinders are retracted in order to be fixed again with bolts for the next advance. After reaching the end position, the bridge element is gradually lowered onto the bridge piers with the help of 8 100-tonne short-stroke cylinders (lowering height approx. 1 m).

Synchronous displacement of a bridge element

Customer requirement: Our customer was looking for a drive unit to synchronously move a complete bridge element to expand a track system in operation from a single-lane to a two-lane system. Basically, the ESS series pump can be used with either single or double-acting cylinders (8 connections). In the case of application, it was used in combination with 2 double-acting cylinders.

Shifting process: The bridge element runs on a rail. With the help of a slide to which the cylinders (left and right) are attached, the cylinders are fixed with bolts. By means of synchronous distance measurement (left and right), the bridge element is pushed forward 300 mm in steps on the rails. As soon as the path is completed, the bolts are released from the anchorage and the cylinders are retracted. As a result, the slide is pulled further and is again fixed for the next advance by means of bolts.

Pulling off train wheels

An Austrian transport company with service and maintenance work on locomotive and wagon wheels was looking for a holistic solution for removing wheels. In close technical cooperation, a solution was found with the help of the Enerpac 100 to cross bearing puller. The puller enables an efficient pulling off of the locomotive and wagon wheels thanks to its appropriate span. The extraction height of the mobile extractor is easily regulated by remote control and the pallet truck is placed on the running wheel. This makes work easier and saves time.

Pulling off train wheels

Customer requirement: removing the running wheels from railway wagons in an efficient, wheel-friendly and safe way.

Solution: A hydraulic puller (100 tons) combined with a ZE3 pump is used. For pulling off, the trolley together with the puller is positioned centrally with the claws open and precisely placed on the running wheels. To make it easier to remove the impellers from the shaft, oil or glycerine is injected with the help of a special high-pressure hydraulic pump (the floating takes place at 2,800 bar). The wheel can now be pulled off more easily on this film of liquid.

Pulling off ball bearings

The ball bearings of a machine are removed and replaced with the bearing shell. Since a multiple stroke was required, a cylinder with a large stroke height was chosen. It is driven by a battery hydraulic pump (model XC). This process is repeated around 40 times a year

Maintenance of trams

Customer requirement: A solution for the maintenance of bogies / couplings of trams. The work must be done overhead.

Solution: With the help of a hydraulic torque wrench a torque-precise screwing / solution is carried out. The advantage of the hydraulic torque wrench, e.g. compared to a normal torque wrench, lies in the high tightening and loosening values required. These can be reached comfortably (without any effort). There is an automatic shutdown of the screwdriver when the torque is fixed. Since the work is done overhead (no support surface), a reaction arm must also be used to enable counter-support.

Maintenance of heat exchangers

Customer requirement: Up to this point in time, the assembly or maintenance of heat exchangers for steam power plants was carried out with the help of "normal" torque wrenches. The time for this work was relatively long and time-consuming ...

Solution: A hydraulic torque wrench of the W series is used. As a result, the screwing process can be carried out faster, more conveniently and with precise torque.

Servicing a shredding machine

Customer requirement: The knives of a shredding machine have to be serviced monthly. For this purpose, the old knives are dismantled, checked and if necessary new ones are installed. Loosening was done by the customer with an impact wrench, tightening was done by hand. These processes were very imprecise and took a lot of time.

Solution: With the use of a cordless torque wrench (range 100 to 1,300 Nm) this process can be carried out can now be done precisely and quickly. The screws are tightened with 450 Nm, and a power of 1,100 Nm is required to open them.

Replacement of cutting blades in a garbage shredder

Customer requirement: With a residual waste shredder, the cutting blades must be regularly serviced (dismantling / assembly). The new knives must be tightened with a torque of 3,000 Nm (approx. 60 tightenings per roller).

Solution: Application found a cordless torque wrench (article number 2700-740) (4-speed gearbox, 150 -4,000 Nm power, output 1.1/2" square). The support arm was made to measure on customer request.

Time saving and work safety: Before that, this process was done with a large, unwieldy torque wrench with an extension. It was time consuming, exhausting and imprecise. The correct torque values were often missed. The revision lasted at least 3 days. With the cordless torque wrench, the time was reduced to 6-9 hours.

Maintenance of a mash tank

After each season, the 40 to 50 mash tanks of a food company are serviced. To do this, the old, rusted screws (approx. 15 screws per container) are removed and replaced with new ones. This process takes place with precise torque.

We would be happy to advise you on your project. You can also arrange an appointment with us for a product demonstration from the areas of hydraulics and bolting.
